JAMMU, Aug 8: In a significant move towards shaping the Hamara Manifesto 2024, the Sub-Committee of Kashmiri Displaced District (KDD) today held series of meetings in Bantalab, Roop Nagar and Durga Nagar areas. The meetings were focused on gathering valuable feedback from a cross-section of the community, including local intelligentsia and activists.
During these live interactions, participants provided crucial input on various pressing issues. The discussions ranged from restoring the community’s stake holding status in the political landscape in a meaningful manner, to the permanent rehabilitation of displaced persons. Key concerns also included addressing the lacunae in the Distress Sales Act and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
A particularly significant issue raised was the recognition of the killings of Kashmiri migrants in the Valley as a grave act of genocide. The participants stressed that this recognition is essential for ensuring justice, fostering remembrance, and taking steps towards reconciliation for the affected community.
The Sub-Committee also proposed the establishment of a Commission of Inquiry. This Commission would be tasked with investigating the reasons behind the migration and killings of Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley. The aim of the inquiry would be to fix responsibility and recommend actions to bring the culprits to justice.

Bhat, Seh Prabhari and Member of the Election Manifesto Sub-Committee, conducted the proceedings. Other prominent members present included H. K. Razdan and M. L.
