JAMMU, Sept 4: BJP Kashmir Displaced District (KDD) in a meeting here, today urged the election authorities to ensure that the Kashmiri migrant voters names are not missing from the electoral rolls.
The meeting which was chaired by KDD president Chand Ji Bhat urged the Relief authorities to ensure the constituency wise enrolment of voters in electoral rolls and make it available at concerned zonal offices so that the migrants can cast their votes without any difficulty.
The meeting also expressed concern that in Parliament election earlier this year a big chunk of non migrant Pandits names were missing in voter lists of Kashmir valley with the result they could not exercise their franchise. Terming it a big lacuna the meeting demanded that the election authorities should not repeat the mistake again this time.
Addressing the meeting Hira Lal Bhat, co Incharge KDD urged the activists to reach out to all voters of the community to seek their vote and support for the party. He said this is a crucial election after the abrogation of Article 370 and it could be a referendum on Modi Government’s decision on abrogation of the controversial Article so it is the bounden duty for every nationalist in J&K to endorse the Modi Government’s decision and give a clear message to those political parties who are sowing the seeds of secession and hatred.
He said the decision taken by the party in selection of candidates was made after hectic parlays with grass root level workers and some senior and tallest party leaders who were not given mandate accepted the party’s decision with great humility which shows that BJP is a disciplined party and believes in service of people and not in power.
KDD general secretary, Hari Krishan Razdan said that BJP Government led by PM Modi took many out of box decisions for the overall interests of the nation and abrogation of Article 370 was one among them. He said it is the duty of every party activist to strengthen the hands of PM.
