KBTK for action against land grabbers of cremation ground

JAMMU, Dec 27: Shree Mata Kulwagishori Prabandhak Trust Kulgam, (KBTK), Kashmir in a meeting here, today under the leadership of its president A N Bhat discussed the situation of shrines, temples and cremation ground of the area.
The meeting said that the cremation ground Kulgam has 38 kanals of land in record and it was also in the possession of the community. But some land grabbers and mafia having patronage of administration have grabbed its land after the mass exodus of the community.
They said that a big portion of land belonging to cremation ground in the town has been grabbed and out of 38 kanals of land belonging to the cremation ground only five kanals are visible on site at present which is a cause of concern for all.
The Trust in an appeal to Government demanded immediate restoration of land to the cremation ground. In view of encroachment of land constructed a compound wall with two gates around the land.
A resolution to this effect was also passed and copy of the same was handed over to DC Kulgam also with an appeal to initiate action against the land grabbers.
