JAMMU, May 30: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta today conducted an extensive tour of Gandhi Nagar constituency here today and took stock of basic amenities in Greater Kailash area.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Gupta said the black topping work of interior roads of Ambika Colony; Swaran Nagar and adjoining areas has been completed. He assured that the other works undertaken shall also be completed in a time bound manner to benefit the locals at the earliest. Kavinder Gupta stressed for ensuring transparency in the working of the departments and asked the concerned officers to submit the status reports regularly to his office. He asked the officers to adopt cost efficient methods for quality work.
Kavinder Gupta was accompanied by Vinay Gupta, Capt. Jameet Singh, Darshan Grover, Rohit Verma, Naresh (Nishu), Booti Ram among other local leaders of the party.
During the tour, delegation from Nanak Nagar Sector 2, led by Ankush Gupta and comprising Balwinder Singh, Balvir Singh, Param Singh, Manmeet Singh, Vinay Gupta, Harpal Singh and Narinder Singh also met former Deputy Chief Minister and put forth some demands of the locality.
Gupta, while interacting with them, said that the works worth Rs 7 crores have been sanctioned for Nanak Nagar. He further said that he had tried his best for the redressal of the problems being faced by the people within the shortest possible time and the remaining works shall also be completed after the competition of the codal formalities.
Kavinder Gupta also said the blacktopping works worth Rs 30 crores have also been approved for the Roads of Chatha, Gangyal, Jeevan Nagar-Maralian road, Trikuta Nagar, Shastri Nagar, interior road of Qasim Nagar from Gurudwara to Narwal and Digiana area. “Our priority is to improve the basic infrastructure of Gandhi Nagar constituency and make it model constituency,” he said.
