JAMMU, June 24: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta today toured Gadi Garh & Bhore areas falling in Gandhi Nagar constituency to take stock of ongoing developmental works and power infrastructure. Gupta also visited the site of newly installed additional 6.5 MVA Power Station.
Gupta in his address said that these area have been facing power crisis from the past several years and they also face power fluctuations, so for fulfilling demands of the locals of the area such steps have been taken in order to eradicate the crisis of power from these area. Gupta said during his tenure he had tried his best for the development works and other projects. He said the major projects executed in this area such as installation of 6.5 MVA Transformer in addition to already installed 10 MVA Transformer.
He said in Gandhi Nagar constituency alone seven new 33/11 KVA Substation have been dedicated to public. Gupta apprised that more than 950 KM road length has been upgraded; more than 500 transformers and 15000 new electric poles have been installed in Gandhi Nagar constituency in the past six years. “We have been working on the mechanism for reducing the power curtailment during the peak season by getting the power infrastructure upgraded in phased manner and soon people will witness 24×7 power supply, Gupta added.
He said that many projects which are still pending for the approval in the concerned departments will be taken up for the execution after Govt agencies start the execution as the major works have been stalled amid COVID-19. He said BJP is the party of development and is bound to serve the people and the residents have witnessed a progress in the development of the constituency. The residents of the area complimented former Dy. CM for providing the transformers and installation of additional 6.5 MVA substation and his sincerity in the redressal of the problems.
Gupta assured the residents of the area that their legitimate demands would be fulfilled in a phased manner as Government at Centre led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has resolved total development and prosperity of J&K. He appealed to public to come up with the developmental works which are necessity of the hour so that process for the execution is initiated at the earliest. District president BJP- Vinay Gupta, vice president, J&K, Kissan Morcha,- Harbans Choudhary, district secretary, Narinder Koki, Councillor Cantoment Board& Mandal Pradhan- Bharat Bhushan, Mandeep Choudhary, Ravinder Raina, Mohit Raina and Sanjeev Singh were prominent among those present on the occasion.
