JAMMU, Feb 27: Former Deputy Chief Minister & BJP senior leader, Kavinder Gupta today toured Gandhi Nagar Constituency and started various developmental works at Ward 50 Sector 3 Channi; Ward 52 and Ward 53 in Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
Kavinder Gupta started much awaited lane and drain work at Sector 3 Channi in Ward 50 to be executed by JMC. On the occasion, Neena Gupta, Kulbir Charak, Ishant Gupta among other prominent persons of the area were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that Union Government is committed to provide all basic amenities like adequate drinking water, power, education, healthcare and other civic facilities to the people of all the three regions of the State especially the areas where there is lack of basic amenities to the public.
In Ward 52 work of up-gradation of lane and drain was started along with the councillor, Ajay Gupta. Vinay Gupta, Manohar Lal Menia, Nitin Thapa, Amit Jamwal, Sandeep Gupta, Ramesh Sharma and other local leaders of BJP & BJYM were present on the occasion. While addressing the gathering Gupta said BJP is the party for real development and all the works couldn’t be taken up for the execution due to bad weather, should be taken up for the execution shortly.
Gupta said that it is the responsibility of the concerned officers and engineers to conduct field survey and project plans on priority. Referring to the developmental works under execution in Gandhi Nagar Constituency, Gupta said that the construction of various developmental projects are apace and on completion of these schemes it will change the socio-economic conditions of the people of the area.
Later Gupta started laying of paver tiles in ward 53 along with the councillor, Jyoti Devi to be executed by JMC. Gupta was accompanied by Councillors Sham Lal, Prerna Nanda, Manmeet Singh, Harmeet Singh, K.D Sharma, Sahil Gupta among other prominent persons of the area. He said BJP will fully support the newly elected representatives from the various wards for the development of the area. Interacting with the people, Kavinder Gupta said that development programmes have been launched in the Constituency with the aim to provide better amenities to the people. On the occasion, local people projected charter of demands which included construction and up-gradation of lanes and drains in area.
Gupta gave them patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into. He said the construction work on various ongoing developmental projects is apace in the area but the need of the hour is to utilize 100 percent funds earmarked for the current fiscal. He asked the people to cooperate with the Government in implementation of developmental schemes and avail maximum benefits of schemes.
