JAMMU, Feb 4: Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader along with Rahul Kumar, Councilor Ward No 20 kick-started development work of lanes and drains at Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar here, today. The development work estimated to be completed at a cost about Rs. 32 lakh.
Addressing the gathering, Kavinder Gupta said that the Government at the Centre is paying focused attention to Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory to ensure welfare and prosperity of the people of this region. He said the Union Government is paying focused attention towards Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory and is determined to carry out developmental activities in every nook and corner of this sensitive region.
He said that the Government stands fully committed to ensure the prosperity and welfare of the people especially the underprivileged sections of the society by providing the requisite infrastructure in all the areas. He asserted that BJP has already provided domicile certificates to Valmikis after abrogation of Article 370 thus ending the decades’ old discrimination against this.
Kavinder Gupta, while congratulating the people of the area on commencement of the work said that this work of lanes and drains taken up today was a long pending demand of the people of this area and after the completion of this project the people of this Ward will get benefitted. He appreciated Councilor, Rahul Kumar for making relentless efforts in keeping the wheel of development moving at full pace in the ward whether it is roads, sanitation and drinking water or power supply.
Rahul Kumar stated that several works are in pipeline and soon the same will be taken up shortly in the general interest of people of the ward.
