JAMMU, June 9: Speaker Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar constituency, Kavinder Gupta today laid foundation of a tube well at langer panchayat, Greater Kailash in presence of PHE officials.
The Speaker was accompanied by Baldev Billoria, Balwant Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Cpt. Jameet Singh, Er. Ashwani Khosla and other prominent citizens of the locality.
Being on expansion mode the water requirement of Sainik Colony, Greater Kailash and Gangyal area has increased many folds in the one decade so in order to fulfill the need of the people, this project has been undertaken by the Speaker with the concerned department and the work on the same has been started by the Speaker.
Locals expressed their gratitude to the speaker for taking this project on priority; Mr Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that he is there only because of these people and he is duty bound to solve all their problems.
The Speaker said that this project will facilitate a large number of population, hence enhancing their living conditions. He instructed the executing agency to complete the project in stipulated time so that people don’t have to suffer anymore. The onset of summers has increased the demand of water so it is the duty of their representative to take care of these things, he added.
The Speaker assured the people of the area that he will keep working on the basis of day-to-day needs. He visited various other localities to access the problems being faced by them and directed the accompanying officers to evolve a joint working mechanism for ensuring fast response and prompt services to the people of Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
