JAMMU: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today inaugurated water pipe laying work at Tufani Mohalla of Narwal area.
The work has been executed by the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department and it would improve the water supply of the area.
The Speaker was accompanied by Executive Engineer PHE, VK Khajuria and other officers of PHE Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta directed the concerned authorities to ensure timely completion of the pipe laying work so as to curb the problem of water scarcity in the area.
Interacting with the Speaker, the locals put forth their demands regarding the development of the area, which includes up gradation of transformer, lanes and drains.
The Speaker assured the problems raised would be mitigated soon in sympathetic manner.
Kavinder said that the government will continue its endeavors to meet the aspirations of the people of the State and hoped that people will also extend their full cooperation in this regard.
Reiterating the commitment of the State government, the Speaker maintained that the government is committed to provide better civic amenities to all. He said that massive developmental activities have been started to provide safe drinking water, better sanitation and hygienic surroundings to people across the state.
