JAMMU, July 2: Former Deputy Chief Minister & senior BJP leader Kavinder Gupta today dedicated upgraded 400 KVA transformer and substation to the residents of Rani Talab, adjoining Peer Baba, Digiana in Gandhi Nagar constituency.
Gupta in his address to the gathering on the occasion said that these areas have been facing power crisis from the past several years and they also face power fluctuations, so for fulfilling demands of the locals of the area such steps have been taken to solve the power problem.
He said, funds tuning to Rs 12.5 lakh for additional 250 KVA substation along with transformer have been approved. Gupta said during his tenure he had tried his best for the development works and other projects. He said the major projects executed in this area included up gradation of 10 MVA substations to 20 MVA.
Gupta apprised that more than 850 km road length has been upgraded; more than 405 transformers and 14000 new electric poles have been installed in Gandhi Nagar constituency in the past three years all the already approved works will be executed by the concerned agencies in phased manner. Six projects for the construction of deep drains have been approved and the work on the approved drains will be started soon, Gupta added.
He said that works worth Rs 70 crore have been approved in Gandhi Nagar Constituency and the work for the up gradation of lanes, drains and roads is under process.
Gupta assured the residents of the area that their legitimate demands would be fulfilled in a phased manner as Government at Centre led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has resolved total development and prosperity of the State. He appealed to public to come up with the developmental works which are necessity of the hour so that process for the execution is initiated at the earliest.
Councillor Raj Rani, Vinay Gupta, Harbans Choudhary, Raj Singh Randhawa, Sat Pal Choudhary, Narinder Gupta Koki, Sahil Gupta, Joginder Singh, Uttam Singh, Prem Choudhary were prominent among those present on the occasion.
Later, Gupta started work on creation of new substation in Ward 43 to be executed by PDD. He was accompanied by Councillor Surjit Choudhary (Pappu).
