Katra Navratra Festival: Jammu girl Sargam wins Devotional Song Competition

JAMMU: A budding singer from Jammu, Sargam Sharma has emerged winner of the grand finale of Devotional Song Competition which culminated on the last day of Navratra Festival amidst chanting of Bhajans and beating of drums at Katra town of Reasi district.

Anmol Raja of Hoshiarpur Punjab and Kabul Bhukhari of Mumbai ended up as first and second runners up among 11 contestants of the final round including six from other states and 5 from within the State.

Jammu and Kashmir Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda was chief guest on the occasion.

Bollywood singer Lakhwinder Wadali was special invitee on the occasion who enthralled audience with his one and half hour captivating performance.

The first prize winner got Gold worth Rs 3 lakh while Gold worth Rs 1 lakh and Gold worth Rs 50,000 was given to second and third position holders.

The consolation prizes of Rs 10,000 each were also given to other contestants of the final round. (AGENCIES)
