Katra Hotels Association delegation calls on Chairman Railway Board

KATRA, Oct 18: A delegation of Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra,  led by its president Rakesh Wazir and  chairman Shyam Lal Kesar,  met  Chairman Railway Board  A K Mittal who was accompanied by General Manager Northern Railways A K Puthia, Chief Administrative Officer, Surinder Kaul, DRM Ferozpur, Anuj Prakash  and other senior officers.
The Railway Officers were on their tour to Katra, Reasi and other areas to inspect the ongoing work of Katra to Srinagar Railway line including the coming up world’s highest bridge at Kouri.
Mr Wazir apprised the Chairman about the facilities, which are required to be provided immediately at the Katra Railway Station. “Parking lots are be opened for Autos, Taxies, Cars, Motor Cycles etc and the passenger Reservation counters, which are already complete, need to be opened at the earliest because in absence of these facilities the pilgrims are facing lot of problems, he explained.
Mr Wazir also demanded starting of some DMUs upto Katra again because DMUs are having less fair and more stoppages enroute to Jammu.
Mr Kesar pointed out that this Railway Station had been made world class and was more beautiful than most of the Air ports, so its planning should be made on modern lines and on the pattern of Air ports, luggage trolleys should be provided there. He also emphasized for installing of CC TV Cameras over here especially keeping in view the sensitivity of the area.
The Chairman listened to the delegation patiently and assured that parking will be started within days. He also assured early consideration of all other demands.
The delegation comprised of senior office bearers of the Association, including Virender Kesar, Harish Dubey, Vivek Sharma, Amit Rahi, Rohit Dubey, Sumit Khajuria and others.
