Katra all set to host 9-day Navratra Festival: Div Com

Jammu, Sept 21: ‘Katra, the holy town is all set to host nine day Navratra festival going to begin on September 29 with elaborate arrangements in place by the Government’, stated Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma during a press conference here today.
Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Simrandeep Singh, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib and Director Tourism Jammu, Deepika Sharma were also present in the conference.

The Div Com informed that this year Navratra festival is being organised in Katra from September 29 to October 7 for which all necessary public utilities and related arrangements have been put in place by the District Administration Reasi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board besides Tourism department for peaceful and comfortable pilgrimage.
Elaborating on details about annual pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi, the Div Com informed that 3,18,753 pilgrims have paid obeisance at the revered Cave during Navratras in 2018.
This year’s events would include shobha Yatras, Mata Ki Kahani, Cultural Programmes, Prabhat Pheris, All India Devotional Songs competition, Bhagvat Katha, Hassaya Vyang Sammelan, Wrestling Competitions and programme by specially abled children.
