Kathua residents, traders’ concern over digging of roads

KATHUA, Sept 19: The inhabitants and business community members of Kathua town have expressed grave concern over the digging of roads by a private telecom company for laying of cables.
The people of Ward No 13 also protested against the private telecom company and stopped work alleging that they were facing problems due to digging of roads and lanes.
The protestors said that digging has created a public nuisance in the area and people as well as members of business community have been put to hardships due to digging of the roads and lanes.
They said that such provisions are to be kept in the proposal for construction of roads as people are facing constant difficulties by digging the roads for laying of cables, PHE pipes, etc and it often results in traffic jams and other problems to people.
The people have warned the concerned authorities not to put them to further problems failing which they would resort to agitation.
