KATHUA, Apr 23: Continuing its action against illegal mining within the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, RC Kotwal, today seized five vehicles at two different places indulging in illegal mining and transportation of the excavated material.
A team of Police Station (PS) Kathua under the supervision of Inspector, Vijay Kumar SHO, in its jurisdictional area near Ravi river found two dumpers and one excavator indulged in illegal mining which were being used for transportation of construction material.
While in another instance, a team of Police Post, Nagri under the supervision of in charge PP Nagri, Vicky Thapa in his jurisdictional area near Dambra, Nagri found one JCB Machine and a truck bearing Registration Number JK02AN -6945 indulged in illegal mining.
All of these five vehicles were seized and handed over to the officials of Mining Department, Kathua for further course of action.
