JAMMU, Apr 24: Continuing the drive against the rash driving of two wheelers especially the motor bikes by road Romeos in the Kathua district, the district police under the directives of SSP, Shridhar Patil and under the supervision of S S Samyal, Dy SP today seized and challenged scores of two wheelers in Kathua and adjoin areas.
The police seized 27 two wheelers which were being driven rashly putting pedestrians in the area to grave risk. Besides, 50 two wheeler drivers were also challenged for not carrying the documents etc.
The SSP Kathua Patil has reiterated his warning to road Romeos driving the two wheelers especially the bikes rashly doing stunts thereby putting their as well as lives of other people to grave risk by causing accidents.
He said people especially youth are involved in these activities and whosoever will be found driving the two wheelers fast beyond the speed limit in Kathua and other towns of the district or on National Highway would be dealt under law.
He said besides seizing their two wheelers they will be also challaned. He also made an appeal to parents of the youth to guide their wards not to drive the two wheelers beyond the speed of 40 kms per hour.
The SSP also announced that the drive will continue for next four days also.
