Kathua police arrests one , seizes 300 gms of Ganja

KATHUA, May 21: Intensifying its action against drug peddlers and to neutralize their activities within the district, Kathua Police recovered 300 grams of Ganja at Sabzi Mandi area in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Kathua, arrested one person and seized the narcotics on spot.
Police said on the basis of information received through a reliable source at Police Post (PP) Hatli that one person namely Yuvraj Yadav, son of Ved Ram of Chattishgarh at present Shiv Mandir Ward No. 14 near Sabzi Mandi was smuggling Ganja in the respective area.
Acting swiftly a police team led by SI Durga Dutt in charge, PP Hatli under the supervision of DySP, Headquarters, Kathua, Manjeet Singh and Inspector, Sudhir Sadhotra, SHO, PS Kathua conducted a naka checking in the area and apprehended drug peddler who was roaming under suspicious circumstances.
On thorough checking 300 grams of Ganja like narcotics was recovered from his illegal possession which was seized and the drug peddler was arrested on spot.
A case vide FIR No. 219/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station, Kathua while further investigation is underway.
Kathua Police has appealed to the general public not to indulge in the sale or consumption of drugs and to report any such activity to their nearest Police Station.
