KATHUA July 29 : Kathua police today seized 10 grams of heroin and arrested a drug peddler wanted for supply of drugs in the area and ruining the future of the younger generation.
As per reports, a team of Police Station Kathua during checking duty in Changran area apprehended a drug peddler namely Shamdin @ Billu S/o Sharif Mohammad, R/o Kote Punnu Kathua and seized 10 grams of heroin from his possession. He was riding on a two wheeler without Registration Number. Police team also seized the motorcycle.
Police Station Kathua registered a case FIR No. 248/19 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act against the accused. Further investigation into the case is going on.
Kathua police has launched a drive against the drug menace in the district and it is taking every possible step to make people especially youth against the ill effects of drug menace. “We request people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption with the police for a common cause. The identity of such people will be kept confidential”, a senior police officer said.
