Kathua police arrests 2 drug peddlers, seizes 40 gms of heroin

JAMMU, Apr 2:  In continuation to drive launched by the District Police Kathua to nab the drug peddlers, Police Party of Police Station Lakhanpur, recovered 40 gms of heroin and arrested two persons.
The arrested drug peddlers were identified as Rajeev son of Munshi resident of Basantpur (Lakhanpur), Krishan Singh song of Prem Singh resident of Kaintha (driver of the vehicle).
Police spokesman said, during a routine checking on Kroda Morh road stretch, police intercepted a Scorpio bearing registration No. JK08D-4878 and  while searching of vehicle it recovered 40 gms of Heroin from the possession of Rajeev. After questioning, the drug peddler disclosed that the consignment in question was meant for sale among the youth of the area.
Police arrested the drug peddlers and seized the recovered material. The consignment was recovered by police team led by Inspector Kulbir Singh Choudhary SHO police station Lakhanpur, under the supervision of Additional SP Khalil Ahmed Poswal and Dy SP DAR Parul Bhardwaj  and on the directives of  Pawan Parihar SSP Kathua. A case FIR No. 31/2017 under Section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Lakhanpur and police started investigation in this regards.
