Kathua MC president, VP win trust vote

KATHUA, July 6: The president of Municipal Committee Kathua Naresh Sharma and its vice president, Rekha Kumari won the trust vote in the House today.
The floor test of Municipal Council Kathua president, Naresh Sharma and vice president, Rekha Kumari was held at Municipal Council Kathua under the supervision of ACR Kathua, Devender Paul and EO Municipal Council Kathua, Sanjeev Gandotra here, today. Both won the confidence of 14 councilors out of 20 councilors.  They were declared as winners in No Confidence Motion moved by some councilors of BJP and Independents some days back and voting was held today.
To ensure the victory of its president and vice president the BJP issued whip to all its 12 councilors and two more councilor showed their confidence in the president and vice president.
Earlier 11 Municipal councilors of MC Kathua had shown their no confidence over the present Committee and had submitted no confidence letter signed by 11 Councilors including four from BJP ,one from  Congress  and others were independent against the MC president, Naresh Sharma and vice president, Rekha Kumari to Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, OP Bhagat in his office.
After the angry group raised their heads against the BJP president and vice president, the senior leaders of BJP led by Yudhvir Sethi rushed to Kathua and convened threadbare meeting with angry councilors of the party.  Ultimately BJP issued whip to its members to be present during the floor test and vote in favour of BJP candidates.
The 14 councilor showed their full trust and confidence in the present president and vice president and gave a lifeline to them.
