KATHUA, Oct 15: To acknowledge the contribution of various people in the growth and infrastructural development of the Kathua Campus of Jammu University, a felicitation function was organized by the Kathua Campus, here today
MLA Kathua Charanjit Singh, representatives of District administration, including N S Bali, ADDC Kathua and Jatinder Mishra, Tehsildar Kathua were among those felicitated on the occasion.
Professor Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice-Chancellor, JU adorned Charanjit Singh and others with Shawl and memento as a token of gratitude.
Kathua Campus also acknowledged the valuable contributions of Mandeep Kour, Ex DC Kathua, Zahida Khan Ex DC Kathua and Puneet Sharma, Ex ACR Kathua in the administrative process related to the land clearance and acquisition for Kathua Campus at Janglote.
Lida Ishar, wife of Vive-Chancellor M P S Ishar, was the special guest on the occasion wherein students of Kathua Campus (MBA and MCA) presented an impressive cultural programme.
Sheetal Soni of The Management School, Kathua Campus was awarded with memento for securing University first position in MBA programme for batch 2012-14. Similarly, Kanika Sharma of Department of Computer Sciences & IT was awarded memento for securing third position in creative dance category of Display Your Talent contest 2014.
While addressing students, Professor M P S  Ishar emphasized that the cultural values must be adopted and the younger generation should take pride in aligning themselves with the cultural bond. He appreciated the efforts of the Campus in the manner in which it is moving ahead in academic, infrastructural and extra co-curricular activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Rector Kathua Campus, expressed her gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, MLA Kathua and District Administration for their all out support in all the initiative for the campus.
MLA Charanjit Singh traced his involvement with the Kathua Campus since 2004 and narrated the various hurdles which had to be resolved through his interventions on several occasions from time to time before the construction activity at village Janglote, Kathua Campus could see the light of the day. He expressed his satisfaction with the way Campus is coming up and assured his support in future also.
N S  Bali also spoke on the occasion and assured full support from the district administration to the Campus.
Later Professor M P S  Ishar along with MLA Kathua, Rector Kathua Campus, officials of district administration, officials of Works Department, JU and faculty of Kathua Campus visited the Campus construction site at Janglote where the academic and administration block is likely to be completed by the end of this year.
