JAMMU, Aug 11: Kashmiri Hindi biradari from Tral and Awantipora in Kashmir has sought the protection of religious shrines and other places of worship of the minority community in the Valley.
In a meeting of the biradari members held at Geeta Mandir in Muthi area of Jammu today, the speakers expressed concern over the issue of protection of the religious places of minorities in Kashmir valley. The members also gave brief about the properties left over there and the damage caused to the places of worship after their exodus.
All the speakers expressed their concern for the preservation and protection of Hindu shrines and extended their full support to Pt P N Bhat Memorial Trust in its struggle for mounting pressure on Government for the passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Religious Places ( Management and Regulation) Bill 2009.They also condemned the State Government for not including the age old `Tirath Sthals’ of Tral like Navdal, Kamla and Narasthal in the Revenue records, recently published. J L Raina, Dr R K Bhat, M L Bhat, S N Pandita, A N Raina and R K Koul among others spoke on the occasion.
