JAMMU, Oct 6: Sainik Colony police arrested a Kashmir resident along with large quantity of poppy straw.
As per police sources, based on specific information, a team from Sainik Colony Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a car bearing registration number JK01L-4400.
During checking, police recovered 21 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Malik, son of Ghulam Mohammad Malik, a resident of District Budgam, Kashmir.
The The narcotic drug was meant to be sold among the youth in Jammu, but with the arrest of drug peddler, police achieved a major success to save the youth from becoming drug addicts.
A case under FIR Number 115/17 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at Police Station Channi Himmat and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Sainik Colony Police Post SI Balram Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Channi Himmat Inspector Sajjad Mir, SDPO East Arun Jamwal and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
