PULWAMA, Jan 29: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj System, Ali Mohammad Sagar today laid foundation stone of Chand-Hara Model village of Pampore tehsil of Pulwama district, being developed at a cost of Rs. 1.12 crore, adding that various works in the village would be completed within 9 months.
The Minister was addressing a public gathering at Chand-Hara. Highlighting the achievements of present Government during last five and half years by way of strengthening basic infrastructure in core sectors like health, education, road connectivity, tourism and industries, he said that the performance of present Government is evident from the creation of massive and significant infrastructure during last five years.
The Minister said that the Government has taken up a huge programme for developing 120 villages as Model Villages in the State. He said that among major projects taken in hand, 4-laning of National Highway is apace for facilitating smooth traffic and comfort to commuters.
Maintaining that Kashmir issue needs peaceful resolution, the Minister said that present Government has made every effort to facilitate the dialogue process between India and Pakistan for peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue.
Expressing satisfaction over the return of peace in the State, Mr. Sagar said that there was huge flow of tourists to the State during last couple of years, resulting in improvement in the socio-economic conditions of the people, particularly those connected with tourism trade.
The Member Parliament, Dr. Mehboob Beigh, MLA Pampore, Mir Zahoor, District Development Commissioner Pulwama and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
