Karvan-e-Aman: Only one guest arrives, four cross over to other side of LoC

SRINAGAR: Only one guest from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here while four Kashmiris crossed over to the other side of the Line of Control (LoC) in the weekly Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.

As many as 13 returnees also crossed sides at the Kaman Post, in Uri sector, official sources said on Monday afternoon. They said a resident of PoK arrived at Kaman Post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge, on foot to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 due to partition.

Meanwhile, 22 Kashmiris, including 10 woman and three children, who had gone to PoK in previous buses, also returned after completing their stay there.

They said four Kashmiris, including a woman, crossed over to the other side of LoC in the weekly bus. “As many as four PoK residents, including two women, who had arrived in previous buses to meet their relatives, returned to their homes after completing their stay here”, they added. (AGENCIES)
