Karra reviews progress of SAGY

Ganderbal, June 4: Member Parliament, Tariq Hameed Karra today reviewed the progress made in developing Manigam as a model village under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna (SAGY).
Chairing a meeting at Mini Secretariat here today, Mr Karra reviewed the activities under the scheme as well as the future action plans of the concerned departments.
The Member Parliament stressed upon the officers that all the works under SAGY should be done as per the resolution of the Village Development Committee. He directed Animal Husbandry, Agriculture and Industries Departments to work in close coordination towards making Manigam  “White Maingam” as the village has huge potential for milk production.
The MP directed the Horticulture Department to launch pilot projects on grapes and cherries and include the inputs of the village community in such projects.
The authorities of JKEDA were directed to electrify the whole village by using LED lamps.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Karra said SAGY is a rural development program broadly focused on development of the villages and to uplift the living standards of the people by utilizing MPLAD funds.
He hoped that all the officers would join him in achieving the goal of converting Manigam into a role model village. He asked the concerned officers to work collectively to ensure affective implementation of the scheme and generate awareness among the people so that they can avail benefits of the scheme.
