Kargil delegation meets Transport & Highway Minister, seeks more projects

NEW DELHI, Feb 28: A delegation from Kargil,  led by Chairman & Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC Kargil Haji Mohammad Hanifa Jan,  called  on  Minister for Transport and Road Highway,  Govt of  India,  at Transport Bhawan here.
The delegation comprised of  District president BJP Unit,  Kargil,  Haji Ghulam Mohammad Khudam, Political Advisor to CEC Ghulam Rasool Naqvi, Executive Councilor Tsering Angdus and Member Parliament  Thupstan Chewang.
During the meeting, the delegation raised several important issues related to the Kargil district and sought  more new projects for the district.
Several issues,  including  additional financial assistance for construction of roads under CRF, sanction of additional funds for Kargil Zanaskar NH-3 on account of maintenance and snow clearance works and  relaxation in qualifying criteria for contractors of Kargil district in tender of Kargil Zanaskar National Highway  were discussed in the meeting.
The Union Minister asked the delegation for submission of five more road projects under CRF. He assured that funds shall be provided for maintenance and snow clearance of Kargil Zanaskar National Highway. The Minister also announced  relaxation in the future tenders of NH-3 by changing the work experience from 40 percent to 25 percent  and special package for roads of connectivity for the district. He further said that his Ministry will extend all the possible support to LAHDC to overcome all these problems.
