Kargil delegation calls on Iranian Ambassador, seeks early evacuation of stranded pilgrims

KARGIL, Mar 17: Delegation from Kargil, led by the Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan, called on Iran’s Ambassador to India, Dr Ali Chegeni at the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi today.
The delegation discussed in detail about the problems being faced by the stranded Ladakhi pilgrims and students in Iran and urged that they are brought back to India at the earliest.
The members of the delegation appealed the Ambassador to extend all necessary facilities to the stranded pilgrims and students including all required medical facilities to the patients who have been kept in isolation. The delegation also urged the Ambassador to depute translators for convenience of the stranded passengers.
The Ambassador, while giving a patient hearing to the members of the delegation, assured them that all necessary measures would be taken for the welfare of the stranded pilgrims and students while maintaining close coordination with the Indian authorities.
Members in the delegation included the Executive Councillor for Social Welfare Aga Syed Mujtaba Mosavi, Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan, representative of Anjuman e Jamiatul Ulema Madrasa Asna Ashriya Islamia School Kargil Sheikh Muhammad Jawad, representative of Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust Kargil, Sheikh Bashir Ahmad Shakir, Councillor Sankoo/representative of Anjuman e Sahab Zaman Sankoo and former MLC Kargil Aga Syed Ahmad Razvi, former MLA Kargil Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai and former CEC, Kargil Haji Muhammad Hanifa Jan.
