KARGIL, Apr 13: As a superb example of the motto Atithi Devo Bhava, a French tourist stranded at Zanskar was taken to safety by two locals, who would be felicitated by the district administration in the forthcoming Independence Day celebration.
A French lady tourist namely Linda Bortoletto (French National passport No. 14CZ94766) has reported that two Zanskaris namely Thukjay of Pishu and Lobzang of Tsazar accosted her safely through an arduous trek route via Charcharla to Leh.
She claimed that during the near week long trek not for one moment did she feel awkward or threatened.
Impressed and touched by the honest and chivalrous behaviour of the two locals the lady recommended the district administration that the two gentlemen be suitably rewarded following which the district administration announced to felicitate the good Samaritans in the forth coming Independence Day celebration.
