JAMMU, July 22: R K Kalsotra, State President of All India Confederation of SC/ST/ OBC Organizations J&K returned back after attending Save Reservation Seminars at Kargil and Leh.
Large number of employees along with social activists attended it. Kargil Seminar was organized by Ahsan Ali Gonkhapa, State Vice President Confederation and Leh Seminar was organized by Tsering Moruph, State Joint Secretary.
Participants projected various demands during the Seminar. They said that promotions at Divisional and State level employees of Leh & Kargil are not given the roster point, on the name of catch up rule some senior officers are not given promotion and their juniors are promoted, Centrally Sponsored Schemes are not being implemented in the Ladakh region, no awareness camps are being organized by the Government as well Banks and other agencies, youth of the area mostly dependent on Government jobs, which are insufficient as per population, no private sector option is in the region and moreover whole of the region is cut off for more than 6 months from other parts of the country and roadways, airways and even phone connectivity is very poor, no proper utilization of funds for the income generation of the youth is operating in the region, even poor students are not being given scholarship at time. Generally students leave their education in a midway due to poorness and not been given scholarship at time.
They appealed Mr Kalsotra to apprise the State and Centre Government to launch special schemes for income generating schemes for the youth of the region, timely release of scholarship, special funding for the welfare of the masses and their utilization in time and due reservation rights in recruitment and promotion.
Mr Kalsotra assured the gatherings at both the places that their demands will be redressed by the concerned authorities at an earliest.
