JAMMU, Aug 3: RK Kalsotra, UT President, All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations met Chief Secretary Arun Mehta and discussed the grievances of SC, ST and OBC.
The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the proposal of Padma Shree Award and compensation for teacher Rajni Bala, who got martyred in a terrorist attack in Kashmir and the transfer policy for inter-district employees.
Kalsotra demanded prioritization of provisions of implementation of Reservation in promotions for SC/ST/OBC, fulfilling of backlog and re-advertisement of the backlog posts withdrawn by the Government, implementation of SC/ST Atrocities Act, training program for police force so that they came to know how to report under SC/ST Act, 5 years relaxation in age for SC/ST, implementation of Mandal Commission Report, provisions for SC/BC entrepreneurship, scholarships, skill development as being run by the Tribal Ministry, functional of SC/BC Corporation of J&K, quarterly meeting of All India Confederation with the Government and its bodies to discuss the grievances of SC/ST/OBCs and to bridge the gap between Government and the people.
Chief Secretary gave a patient hearing to the issues and assured that the demands will be taken seriously.
