NOWSHERA, Apr 20: Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Nowshera took out an impressive `Kalash Yatra’ in the town here today.
A large number of prominent persons of all walks of life attended the yatra starting from Patel Chowk and passing through main Bazar and ancient Raghunath temple. The participants chanted Bhajans amidst beating of drums. The yatra culminated at historical Patel Chowk where `Murti Pujan’ was performed before installation at the site of the new complex constructed there.
Former MLC Ravinder Sharma, president Sanatan Dharam Sabha Jagdish Sawhney, Ex- Chairman Municipal Council Subash Kapoor and several other prominent persons participated in this religious programme.
While speaking on the occasion, Jagdish Sawhney explained the importance of the occasion and the efforts of Sanatan Dharam Sabha to create assets for the larger benefit of the public in the heart of the town and to create facilities and income generating sources for the religious and social cause.
He also expressed gratitude to the participants and sought cooperation of general public. He also expressed thanks to former MLC, Ravinder Sharma for participating and rendering all sorts of encouragement and assistance in the shape of funds to the tune of Rs 3 lakhs out of his CDF during his tenure of MLC for the construction and tiling surroundings, lane and drain in Patel Chowk.
Ravinder Sharma (Ex-MLC) in his brief address extended greetings to the people on the occasion and stressed need for better social and religious harmony and togetherness.
