JAMMU, Dec 20: Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust released its Annual Panchang Calendar for the year 2026, here today.
On this occasion, the chief guest was Sham Lal Sharma, MLA of Jammu North Assembly, while MLA of Marh Assembly, Surinder Bhagat graced the function as the guest of honour. The programme was presided over by Mahant Rohit Shastri, President of Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Sham Lal Sharma stated that the Panchang is an integral part of the Indian way of life, providing accurate and authentic information about tithis, festivals, fasts, and religious rituals. Appreciating the efforts of Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust, he said that such initiatives play a significant role in connecting the younger generation with Indian culture, values, and Vedic traditions.
MLA Surinder Bhagat, in his address, remarked that the Panchang is not merely a collection of dates but a guiding scripture of Dharma, Karma, and Sanskar.
Mahant Rohit Shastri informed that the Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust publishes approximately 10,000 Panchang calendars every year, which are distributed free of cost among various sections of society. He further clarified that the Trust’s objective is not limited only to the distribution of Panchangs, but also to continuously work for the protection and promotion of Sanskrit language, Vedic culture, astrology, and Indian traditions.
During the programme, several eminent citizens who have made noteworthy contributions in the fields of society, culture, education, and religion were also honoured. Those honoured included: Joginder Singh, Lucky Sharma, Dr. Vishal Gupta, Rajan Sharma, Rakesh Singh, Rakesh Gandotra, Sunil Sharma, Harshvardhan Singh, Ankush Sharma, Master Vijay Kumar Sharma, Uttam Chand Sharma, Vandana Kumari, Pradeep Singh, Hardeep Thakur, M L Verma, Dr Vivek Arya, Nigam Gupta, R K Chhibber, Prof Sharad Chandra Sharma, Naresh Choudhary, Vinay Jamwal, Naresh Raina, Lakhvinder Singh, Nitin Sharma, Rohit Verma, Rajesh Langar, Vinay Aggarwal, Vikrant Sharma, Dr Ramesh Gupta, Dr Gaurav Vaid, Satish Gupta, Ashok Choudhary, Surinder Sagar, K D.
