KATRA, Oct 12: Kabul Bukhari from Mumbai, Chaman Lehri from Reasi, Rakesh Deol from Jammu, Pundarik Koshik from Mathura, Rajeev Salotra from Jammu, Amit Sharma from Punjab and Aseem Sharma from Jammu with their sizzling performance in the semifinal, entered into the Mega Final of All India Devotional Song Competition organized during ongoing Navratra Festival at Yog Ashram here.
The semifinal competition was declared open by chief guest Raman Bhalla, Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture in presence of Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Director Tourism Jammu Sojanya Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi Rajinder Singh Tara, Additional SP Katra Pawan Parihar DySP Rajinder Katoch, Rakesh Wazir, Chairman, Competition Committee, Sham Lal Kesar, President, Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra, Yog Acharya Swami Yoga Nand Ji Maharaj, Sardari Lal Dubey, Harish Dubey, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Virender Kesar etc.
In the semis, a total of 17 participants exhibited their talent, out of which Kabul Bukhari, Chaman Lehri, Rakesh Deol, Pundarik Koshik, Rajeev Salotra, Amit Sharma and Aseem Sharma got chance to compete for the title trophy with other contestants.
The competition was adjudged by panel of judges including Dr Surinder Sharma, Head of the Department of Music in Center for Excellence Government Degree College Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, Praduman Singh, former Programmer Executive Radio Kashmir Jammu and Anupama Sharma, Prof Music, Government Degree College Parade, Jammu.
The proceedings of the competition were conducted by Rakesh Wazir.
It is to mention that, the winner of All India Devotional Song Competition will get Gold worth Rs 1 Lakh besides recording contract with Venus Records and Tapes Limited.
