JAMMU, Mar 13: All J&K Shri Sadguru Kabir Sabha observed ‘501st Kabir Nirvan Divas’ at Kabir Bhawan Chak-Avtara, Bishnah with traditional religious fervor, today.
The function was largely attended by people from all the districts of Jammu division, especially from Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Udhampur and Reasi.
A grand Shoba-yatra was taken out on this day, which started from Bari-brahmna and after passing via Deoli-Salehar-Arnia, finally culminated at Kabir Bhawan, Chak-avtara, Bishnah. The devotees were singing Bhajans and the Shoba yatra was warmly welcomed by the passing villages and the route was decorated with flowers. Various jhankies depicting the different aspects of Sadguru Kabir’s spiritual life were part of the Shoba yatra.
On the occasion, spiritual discourse was delivered by Dina Nath Ji Punjab wale, disciple of Great Mahatma Shri Chandi Ram Ji on the Bani of Saints with special reference to Kabir Bani. He explained the sangat that Kabir was a living spirit of God and preached the inner richness of human values and his main thrust was on humanity by spreading the message of love, peace and tranquility.
President of the Kabir Sabha, F C Bhagat, while addressing the gathering, said that Sant Kabir is a guiding beam of enlightenment and spiritual attainment from whom we all felt inspired and drew strength from. He appealed to the people of Bhagat community to unite on a common platform and maintain a positive approach for the proper upliftment of the community. The Sabha also applauded the restoration of reservation in promotion to the SC/ST community and further appealed the State Government to implement the same by giving a retrospective effect and clearing the back logs of the SC/ST quota.
The Sabha thereafter congratulated all the members of the community who cleared various UPSC & State PSC examinations, professional examinations & students who scored excellent in their subjects.
Among others, who also attended the function and spoke on the occasion, included Mula Ram (Ex-Minister), J L Bhagat (ex- president), Prof Garu Ram Bhagat (ex MLA), G R Bhagat, Prof Ashok Bhagat, Yash Paul, Manohar Lal, Gurdass Bhagat, Surinder Bhagat, Balbir Bhagat, Sat Pal, Subhash Bhagat, Ravinder Bhagat and others.
At the end Guru Ka Langar was also served to the Sangat.
