JWAM stages protest, demands scrapping of IWT

JAMMU, Aug 29: Activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) led by their president Sunil Dimple here on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against Pakistan.
Addressing the protesters JWAM president said that PM Modi should scrap Indus Water Treaty (IWT) with Pakistan to use the water of Chenab and Jhelum for agriculture, power projects etc here.
He also demanded to stop cross LoC trade with Pakistan as the same is being allegedly used for anti-India activities like drug smuggling, sending weapons, hawala transactions etc.
Dimple further said that India should liberate PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan from the illegal occupation of Pakistan.
He said that illegally settled Rohingyas should be deported from Jammu as they are a grave security threat.
“There should be no Indo-Pak talks till Pakistan stops terrorism in the Jammu and Kashmir,” he maintained.
Prominent among protestors were Sham Saroop, Harbans Tondon, Chaman Pawar, Ashok Khanna, Dev Raj, Rakesh Pandoh, Rakesh Sethi, Kala Kumar, Vinod Saini, Devanshu Kapai, Abhishek Khjuria, Ajay Saini, Vicky, Babu, Devinder Kumar and many others.
