JAMMU, Mar 31: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held a strong protest demanding the Prime Minister of India, who is visiting Udhampur district on April 2, to start OPD of Jammu AIIMS in the Super Speciality Hospital Jammu, besides laying its foundation stone and including the Jammu city in Smart Cities Project.
Addressing the protesters, JWAM president, Sunil Dimple, said that the PM Narendra Modi must lay foundation stone of Jammu AIIMS during his Udhampur visit and pass instructions to open the OPD of Jammu AIIMS in SSH Jammu and start recruitment of doctors for the AIIMS, till the building is constructed.
Dimple said within week’s time of UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath’s oath ceremony, PM inaugurated the UP AIIMS, but the Jammu AIIMS is unnecessarily being delayed. He urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce the date of laying of foundation stone and the notification order for the establishment of the AIIMS in Jammu.
He said in last 15 days, PM laid down the foundation stones of three AIIMS in different parts of the country, but the Jammu AIIMS is visible nowhere for which only our duff and dumb ministers, MLAs, MPs and the BJP representatives of the Jammu are responsible.
Dimple said that in J&K, particularly in the Jammu region, patients are badly suffering due to lack of proper medical facilities and the GMC Jammu and all the hospitals of the region have become referral hospitals.
The JWAM president urged the PM to include the Jammu City in the project of Smart Cities, as not including Jammu in the last of Smart Cities is a great injustice with the Jammu region. Stating that the Jammu region is facing huge power curtailments and acute scarcity of drinking water, Dimple demanded PM to return Slal, Uri and Dulhasti power projects to the State and scrap Indus water treaty with Pakistan to meet the PDD, PHE requirements of the State.
