JAMMU, Feb 4: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held a protest at New Plot on Janipur-High Court road against Union Budget presented by Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley.
Raising slogans against the Union Government, JWAM activists led by their president, Sunil Dimple, burnt the effigies of the Finance Minister. The protesters said that common people had lots of hope from the Finance Minister that Budget 2018 presented by him will bring down rising prices of petrol, diesel, vegetables, essential edibles oil, but unfortunately the budget has nothing for the common man.
Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple said that Union Budget has nothing for the “Aam Aadmi”, salaried class, farmers, traders, unemployed educated youth, women, and middle class families of the country. He said the budget has badly disappointed the people of the country and J&K State.
He said that petrol and diesel prices have reached all time and are breaking the back bone of the people of the country. He demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to exempt sale tax on the sale of LPG, petrol and diesel to relieve the common man of the country and the J&K State.
Dimple warned if the rising prices of the petrol, diesel and LPG are not controlled; the JWAM will call for the Jammu band.
