JAMMU, Oct 15: Sunil Dimple, president, Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) led a protest rally, for making Jammu a “smart city”, and against the failure of the PWD R&B, JMC, ERA and others for not constructing flyovers and not black topping of the Jammu city roads, as also the worst traffic problem in Jammu city.
Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple demanded the Chief Minister to discuss the matter with Prime Minister for making the winter capital Jammu as a smart city.
Dimple appealed Chief Minister to issue the directives in tomorrow’s high level meeting in Jammu to the departments for the construction of the fly overs at Jewel Chowk, and at the Rehari Chungi.
He also demanded for the construction of multi storied parking at Panjtirthi, Super Bazaar, Shalamar and at Bus Stand. He also urged for restoring the signal lights which have stopped functioning in the Jammu city.
Dimple demanded for starting metro rail, mono rail and construction of Circular Roads to solve the traffic problem faced by the people of Jammu City.
He urged the Chief Minister to come up with the time bound policy to solve the worsening traffic problem in the Jammu city and accused all the PWD, R&B, ERA, traffic departments, Jammu Municipal Corporation who have completely failed to come up with any constructive plan to solve the worsening traffic problem of the city.
