JAMMU, Feb 13: Activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) here today organised a protest rally demanding district status for Jammu West Assembly Constituency and for making Jammu region a separate State.
Addressing the protestors, JWAM President, Sunil Dimple appealed to the Governor, Satya Pal Malik to implement delimitation commission and hold assembly elections along with parliament election in J&K.
He also supported the demand of Ladakh region for Union Territory status.
The JWAM leader rued that no development is taking place in the winter capital of Jammu city and particularly in Jammu West Assembly Constituency.
“Crores of rupees came to the State but Jammu was always discriminated getting due share,” he maintained.
Dimple also said that conditions at MAM Stadium are pathetic and authorities should look into the matter.
Prominent among protesters included Sham Saroop, Chaman Pawar, Dr O.N Pandita, Kulwant Sharma, J.M Gupta, Dev Raj, Ashok Khanna, Mukesh Mahajan, Vipen Mahajan, Satpal Kohli, Kala Kumhar, Rakesh Sharma and others.
