JAMMU, Dec 10: The activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement held a protest demonstration and shouted slogans against the traffic jams round the clock and poor performance of the traffic monitoring agencies in the West constituency.
Addressing the demonstrators, JWAM president Sunil Dimple demanded to start the Delhi type Even- Odd vehicle numbers formula of the vehicles on the different days to solve the traffic problem, in the State.
Dimple urged the authorities to implement this even odd number formula till the Government does not construct the flyovers at Rehari Chungi- Jewel Chowk, Circular Ring roads and demanded construction of alternative four way circular road from Amphalla- Manda to High Court  Janipur, to  Roop Nagar, Bantalab  and from Jewel Chowk to Talab Tillo via Bhagwati Nagar- Canal road to ease the traffic rush problem . He also demanded for the widening of the Jewel- Canal to Purkhu Akhnoor road.
He again urged the Chief Minister and all the Cabinet Ministers to discuss the traffic problem of Jammu city in the coming Cabinet meeting.
Dimple warned the Government for not doing any ground work and only harassing the general public, traders, and commuters. He said no network of widening of roads, flyovers and circular ring roads is done and unnecessarily vehicles are being lifted by Traffic Department.
He said all the inner roads of the West Assembly constituency have been left without the black topping but shown, work done in the records as per sources.
