JU’s Bhaderwah Campus organises workshop on ‘Drone Technology’

JAMMU, Mar 22: The Department of Computer Science & IT at Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, joined forces with iHUB Divya Sampark IIT Roorkee and the Jammu and Kashmir ACM Professional Chapter to inaugurate a two-day workshop on “Drone Technology and its applications.”
As per a statement, the workshop was attended by nearly 200 participants from various educational institutions, departments of Bhaderwah Campus, Indian Army officials and jawans, as well as teaching and non-teaching staff.
Professor Umesh Rai, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jammu, lauded the initiative taken by Bhaderwah Campus in organizing this workshop, stressing its importance in advancing knowledge in the realm of drone technology.
He expressed optimism that participants would actively engage and leverage this platform to broaden their understanding in this field.
As the Chief Guest, Harvinder Singh, Deputy Commissioner Doda, extended his felicitations to Bhaderwah Campus for hosting such a significant event.
He underscored the immense potential of drone technology across various sectors and its relevance in today’s world.
The Rector of Bhaderwah Campus and Patron of the workshop, Professor JP Singh Joorel, commended the efforts of the Department of Computer Science & IT in spearheading this workshop.
He highlighted its role in imparting valuable insights and practical knowledge to the participants, making it a truly enriching experience.
Adding to the discourse, Sunil Kesar, Superintendent of Police (SP) Operation Doda, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor.
He shed light on the critical role of drone technology in addressing security challenges, emphasizing its significance in ensuring safety and security.
Dr Jatinder Manhas, the convenor of the workshop, provided a comprehensive overview of the workshop’s agenda, covering a wide array of topics ranging from Introduction to drone technology to future trends and career opportunities.
