Jugal, Sukhnandan call on Paswan

JAMMU, Nov 23: Jugal Kishore Sharma Member, Parliament from Jammu-Poonch Constituency and Sukhnandan Kumar MLA Marh today called on Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan at New Delhi and apprised him of the problems being faced by the farmers.
Jugal Kishore Sharma said that the farmers are not getting their timely payments for their grains and removal of their goods from the FCI procurement stores situated at the different places in Jammu. He further said that the grains stored are not removed timely from these stores resulting in to their damage to some extent. He also added that due to demonetization of currency notes farmers are unable to purchase seeds, fertilizer and pesticides etc and the Government should take necessary steps to ease out their hardships so that they are able to sow the Rabi crop as time of sowing season has already started.
Sukhnandan Kumar said that the farmers are living hand to mouth and delay in their payments and removal of goods will put them to a huge loss. Their condition will get worse by delaying the payments and they will not also get reasonable price for the grains. Moreover, the delay in removal of goods will result in their destruction too and the farmers have to bare the loss.
Ram Vilas Paswan provided necessary directions to the concerned officials to sort out the issue and ensure speedy payment of farmers and take initiative for the removal of goods to increase the consumption in markets.
