POONCH, May 16: To review the implementation of Centrally sponsored schemes, Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma today chaired District Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee (DLVMC) meeting here today.
Present in the meeting were MLA Haveli, Shah Mohammad Tantray, MLA Surankote, Ch. Mohammad Akram, District Development Commissioner, M H Malik, Additional District Development Commissioner, Arvind Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mumtaz Ali Chowdhary, Assistant Commissioner Development, Basharat Hussain, Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Iqbal Zarger, Executive Engineers of PWD, PDD, PHE, PMGSY besides other district officers and members of DLVMC.
The DLVMC monitors the progress of implementation of centrally sponsored schemes and also reviews adherence to prudent fiscal norms, inter-sectoral convergence, community participation and monitoring.
Sharma, who is also the Chairman of DLVMC, reviewed the progress under the centrally sponsored schemes MGNREGA, IAY, NSAP, PMGSY, IWMP, MIDH, ATMA, BADP, BRGF, NRDWP, SBA, NHM etc.
Highlighting the importance of effective supervision and close monitoring, the MP impressed upon the officers to work with a sense of public service and ensure implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in the most effective manner. He stressed on the implementation of schemes within the given time frame so that public funds are put to optimal use and programmes benefits percolate down to the targeted populace in full measure.
He asked the officers to expedite the execution of various developmental works taken up for their timely completion. He also asked the members of DLVMC to conduct frequent inspections of development works, adding that their role is vital in ensuring that the benefits flow to the targeted sections besides exercising preventive-vigilance.
Earlier, the District Development Commissioner gave a detailed account of the physical and financial achievements during the FY 2014-15. He also apprised the MP about the status of various ongoing projects.
MLAs of Haveli and Surankote also discussed in detail the status of various developmental works being carried out in the district. They also emphasized for organizing awareness camps regarding the centrally sponsored schemes to ensure involvement of public in the developmental process. They urged the MP to vigorously project the developmental needs of district emphasizing that central assistance is vital for faster development in the district.
