Jugal demands relief for Lalli bus mishap victims

JAMMU, May 29:  Expressing grief over the loss of precious human life in a road accident that occurred at Lalli in Udhampur district, former Minister and Member Legislative Council (MLC) Jugal Kishore Sharma has demanded grant of adequate ex-gratia relief to the victim’s family.
In a press statement issued here today, MLC conveyed his heart felt sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for the early recovery of those injured in the accident.
Jugal Kishore demanded adequate ex-gratia relief to the next of kin of the deceased while he also sought financial assistance and free medical treatment to those who were critically wounded in the mishap.
Regretting that such accidents have become a routine affair, MLC Sharma urged the government to frame a comprehensive policy so as to check the menace of frequent road mishaps effectively.
Senior Congress leader also demanded to keep a strict vigil on overloading and plying of old model buses due to which road mishaps have become a routine affair particularly in hilly areas.
It is worthwhile to mention here that yesterday a bus, on way to Khor Gali from Udhampur, rolled down into a deep gorge near Lali in Udhampur district leaving one dead and several injured.
