JAMMU, June 16: Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu , today released an Urdu Book “Composite Culture and Urdu Literature”, jointly complied by Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, HoD Urdu and Dean faculty of Arts, JU and Dr Shehnaz Qadri, HoD Urdu MAM College Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Manoj Dhar said that book covers all the aspects of composite culture in Urdu literature. There is a need to highlight the composite culture of India in different generes of Urdu language. Highly reputed writers of the country have written detail research papers on composite culture and Urdu literature which have been included in the book. The book is beneficial for research scholars and students and should be kept in every library of the country, he added.
Dr Reyaz Ahmed, while speaking on the occasion, described the book a valuable. The book is a first kind of book in Urdu as no work has been done on the topic earlier, he added.
The book “Composite Culture and Urdu Literature” contains 574 pages. Near about 100 research papers have been included in the book. Prominent writers of the country who have contributed for the book included Dr Taqi Abedi, Prof Sageer Afrahim, Prof Khwaja Ekram ud Din, Prof Aslam Jamsheedpuri, Prof Zia ul Rehman, Dr Chaman Lal, Dr A R Manhas, Dr Farhat Shamim, Dr Asif Malik ,Dr Mushtaq Hayder, Dr Kousar Rasool and others. The book has been dedicated to renowned litterateur DrTaqi Abedi. The book has been published by Qasmi Kutub Khana Jammu.
The book release function was organized by the Deptt of Urdu, University of Jammu. Social distancing norms were adhered to while organising the function.
