JU students call on Union Ministers, submit memorandum

NEW DELHI, May 7: A delegation of Jammu University students separately called on Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey and MoS in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh for submitting them a memorandum highlighting the demands of JU students.
The delegation, led by Abhinandan Sharma, apprised the HRD Minister about students demand for a free Wi-Fi at JU campus as well as at its off campuses so that internet connectivity is provided to all the students as a part of Digital India initiative.
The JU students explained the problems being faced by them in surfing academics related material due to non-availability of Wi-Fi on the campus. They also highlighted some other issues of the students and appealed the HRD Minister for his personal intervention to ensure free Wi-Fi facility at JU.
The minister assured to issue necessary directions in this regard.
Meanwhile, the JU students also called on MoS in PMO and Member Parliament from Kathua-Udhampur-Doda constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh for apprising him of their same demand and seeking his intervention in this regard.
Dr Jitendra Singh rang up the JU Vice-Chancellor and asked the latter to speed up the project in this regard.
The students’ delegation comprised of Sahil Sangra, Narayan Jasrotia, Rameshwar Padha and others.
