JAMMU, Mar 16: The University of Jammu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for setting up Centre of Excellence Lab for Cyber Security & Cyber Forensics solutions at PG Department of Computer Science and IT with M/s Sedulity Solutions & Technologies, New Delhi.
The MoU was signed in presence of JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar, by Registrar JU Prof Arvind Jasrotia on the behalf of the Department of Computer Science and Dr Anup Girdhar, CEO of Sedulity Solutions & Technologies.
Prof Manoj Dhar appreciated the Head and members of the Department of Computer Science and IT, JU for taking an initiative of industry-academia partnership to the new levels which is the main focus of the National Educational Policy. He emphasized the need of providing the latest and emerging technologies like cyber security, AI, machine learning among students and faculties as it is the need of the upcoming era.
Prof Arvind Jasrotia said that some new short term workshops in the areas of ethical hacking be also organized with mutual collaboration.
Dr Anup Girdhar emphasised that MoU will facilitate effective utilization of the intellectual capabilities of Sedulity Solutions & Technologies in the domain of cyber security and cyber forensic activities to fill the gap between industry and academia.
Prof Pawanesh Abrol, Head, Department of Computer Science & IT, while briefing about the objectives informed that the department has been taking various initiatives like organising lectures, FDPs, invited talks, workshops on the latest fields and technologies. He reiterated that the collaboration for setting up of Centre of Excellence lab for Cyber Security & Cyber Forensics solutions with M/s Sedulity Solutions & Technologies shall provide significant industry-oriented opportunities to the scholars, students and the faculty like the development of course curriculums, running certificate, diploma and Degree programme besides joint research supervisions in M Tech and Ph D programmes etc.
Sonia Girdhar, Manager (Operations), M/s Sedulity Solutions & Technologies, Prof Vibhakar Mansotra, Prof Vinod Sharma, Prof Lalit Sen Sharma, Dr Shubhnandan S Jamwal, Jasbir Singh, Dr Neeraj Sharma, Secretary, Dr Suresh Rao, Dr Alka Gupta, Palak Mahajan, Dr Sawinder Kour were also present on the occasion of the signing of the MoU.
