JAMMU, Jan 30: The Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association has appealed the Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu to disband the earlier advisory issued by the erstwhile State Government for blocking the promotional quota meant for reserved category employees in services.
During a meeting of its members, the Association has sought order for filling the quota with eligible category employees who have been waiting for their promotions under the reserved category for a long-long time so that they could occupy their next higher posts.
Maintaining that the Supreme Court has allowed the reservation in promotion and the Parliament too has passed the law to this effect, the Association also urged the Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Professor Manoj K Dhar to look into its charter of demands dated November 27, 2019 and take an early action to resolve its long drawn burning issues enshrined therein.
Besides, the Association also demanded space on the campus for establishing it office. The meeting was chaired by the Association President R L Kaith and attended among other by Surjeet Singh Heer, Neelam Bhagat, Som Dutt Bhagat, Kewal Krishan Shavotra, B R Angral, Des Raj Lange, Bikram Magotra, Manzoor Mohd Malik, Sukhdev Bhagat, Thoru Ram Mangloo, Kunj Lal Bhagat, Vijay Kumar Bhagat and Bodh Raj.
