JU renews appeal to agitating employees for resuming work

JAMMU, June 14: As the ongoing chain hunger strike by the Jammu University Class-IV employees entered into fourth consecutive day today, the JU administration renewed appeal to the agitators to resume work.
The members of JU Negotiation Committee visited the protesting employees and held face to face interaction with the latter at the venue of chain hunger strike. Registrar Manoj K Dhar, who is heading the committee, informed about various steps taken by the University authorities over the issue of regularization. He appealed the agitating employees to resume their work and provide sanitation facilities on the campus.
The Non-Gazetted Empl-oyees Union, which is spearheading the ongoing stir, assured to discuss the appeal for sanitation service in the working committee meeting tomorrow.
Meanwhile, fourth batch of five employees, comprising Swarn Singh, Surinder Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Raj Kumar and Sudesh Kumar began their 24-hour long fast to continue the chain hunger strike.
